Life Sciences Building
Monday, 26 July 2010
The University of Southampton has commenced moving into its new Life Sciences Building following completion on 19 July 2010. With a construction cost of £34m, the circa 11,000 m2 building consists of purpose-built laboratories, offices and teaching space that will accommodate the Schools of Medicine and Biological Sciences, together with the Institute for Life Sciences.
Buro Four was appointed to manage the scheme from Stage D. This required a full project audit and review to be completed, culminating in a project that met key parameters and enabled a motivated client and design team to move forward with confidence.
The completion of the new Life Sciences Building releases an existing 32,000m2 building on the University's Boldrewood campus for decommissioning ready for its demolition in 2011.
