Founder Wins Prestigious Award

Thursday, 22 October 2009

Tom Taylor who is one of Buro Four's founders and initial chairman for over twelve years was awarded an Honorary Fellowship at the Association of Project Management (APM) Awards last night.

We are extremely pleased and proud to announce that Tom has also been awarded the Sir Monty Finniston Award. This is the most prestigious of the APM Awards. It is the equivalent of a "Lifetime Achievement" and recognises an individual's contribution to the profession, be it as a single effort or as a sustained set of activities over a long period, and is awarded at the discretion of APM.

Co founder of Buro Four Clive Birch said, 'This is great news and confirms what we all know at Buro Four that Tom is an outstanding project manager and a great ambassador for the profession. His enthusiasm, leadership, integrity, knowledge and good humour have been and remain an inspiration.'

Tom said, 'This is a great honour. Completely unexpected. I am really pleased for myself, my family, for Buro Four and many colleagues and companions in projects, in business and APM.'

Tom has been an active member of APM at branch, national and international levels. He is a certificated project manager, a past chairman, current vice President and ongoing contributor - and now is an Honorary Fellow and Sir Monty Finneston award recipient! He is also principal of dashdot a project management consultancy as well as continuing as a retained advisor with Buro Four.

It is doubtful if these honours will make any difference to Tom's energies and ongoing achievements in writing books, speaking at and chairing conferences, lecturing and running courses, coming up with good ideas and promoting good project management.
