Buro Four has provided project management consultancy services for a number of projects during the life of the framework agreement with Manchester City Council. As opposed to traditional construction projects, our commissions have been based on consulting on project management in conjunction with the Council, allowing us to establish an understanding of how the Council works and manages its projects.

Project Management Procedures
We assisted the Council in reviewing their internal project management system. This included the adoption of a ‘traffic light’ reporting system which is based on similar Buro Four reports.

City Centre Controlled Parking Zone
The planning and implementation of the definition, procurement and delivery of the new city centre’s controlled parking zones.

Neighbourhood Road Safety Initiative
Buro Four established a standard set of programme management tools and ran training to the NRSI team on how to implement the system. Our programmes helped Manchester City Council manage their resources effectively.

Longley Lane, Manchester
Project Management of a £1.7 million waste recycling facility in Wythenshawe, funded by DEFRA.

MAST LIFT project
Bid manager role. Preparation for the outline business cases for a number of potential lift projects, in order to secure PFI credits from the ODPM and the Department for Health.

Victoria Baths, Manchester
Buro Four was also appointed as Project Managers for the restoration of Phase 1 of Victoria Baths in Manchester. Our services included assisting in the preparation of a programme for the design and construction of the development, liaising with adjoining owners, liaising with the Heritage Lottery Fund and management of a wide group of stakeholders. Buro Four also advised the Council on the appropriate tendering and contractual arrangements for the project and advised in the selection of other consultants.
