The redevelopment of Southgate is a mixed-use regeneration project that provides retail, residential and leisure areas. These will be linked by classic Georgian-style open streets, with public spaces including a large central square. The development will bring just under half a million sq ft of retail and leisure space to Bath, all set within an impressive new streetscape and public squares. There will also be 860 new underground parking spaces created. This mixed-use scheme also provides a state-of-the-art transport interchange and works to the listed Bath Spa railway station.
Buro Four won via competition the role of Project Manager to take the development through review including establishing structure and focus across a wide range of stakeholders and aspects for this complex mixed use regeneration scheme. All this whilst ensuring that disruption was minimised and that the city remains accessible to all. We were involved during feasibility, so helped to make the scheme viable, achieving significant reductions on both programme and development budget.
