Vodafone enjoyed exceptional growth in their formative years and by the late 1990s felt that its future business activities and aspirations could not be supported from over fifty different operational locations in Newbury.

Buro Four undertook a strategic review of Vodafone's property portfolio and then worked closely with them to help deliver, fit out, occupy and manage a new World Headquarters, specifically designed to help realise business efficiencies and provide a high quality working environment.

This was essentially a programme management role, managing both the construction and non-construction elements. We also provided extensive client support, supported the communications strategy and advised on strategic facilities management issues to introduce new ways of working to support the required culture change.

The new campus style headquarters is built as 7 individual buildings providing 50,280 m sq (538,000 sq ft) of space that can accommodate up to 3,400 staff and gives Vodafone extensive future flexibility.

During the floods of late summer 2007, Buro Four project managed of a number of flood defence measures, including alterations to the ponds and landscaping and reinstatement works to the Pavilion area, gym and storage facilities.
