The creation of a new centre of excellence in Swindon for the UK’s largest conservation charity, bringing its 470 staff ‘under one roof’ for the first time.
Buro Four advised on the selection of a development and funding partner and then provided management services for the total project, defining and delivering both the construction stage and associated IT, FF&E and relocation projects. We also provided strategic facilities and move management advice to ensure that the opportunities for improved culture and new ways of working were maximised.
The National Trust wanted its headquarters to be an example of good environmental practice while providing open, well-designed flexible space that can be adapted to suit changing requirements and modern ways of working.
The building has won several awards, including the BCO Innovation Award and the RIBA Sustainability Award, both in 2006.
