The new Barrett Street development consists of 38,500 sq ft of space for retail, office and residential accommodation. It is located in the heart of central London, between Selfridges and St Christopher’s Place. Works comprise the demolition of the London School of Fashion building whilst retaining the 1870s brick façade onto Picton Place.
The new building is a concrete structure of five levels and a basement, housing a new Reiss retail outlet and their head office. Private apartments face north with access from Picton Place.
Buro Four was appointed to provide Project Management and Employers Agent services, including design management, planning process management, cost management and programme management.
The Reiss headquarters on Barrett Street recently won a Civic Trust Award and has been shortlisted for a BCO Award 2009, World Architecture Festival Award 2009 and a RIBA Award 2009.
